DOING THE RIGHT THING COMES
NATURALLY WITH THE CLAIMS RESPONSE VEHICLE
Although the purpose of
the Claims Response Vehicle is to provide real time, on-site claims service,
it’s become so much more. At a time of
distress, CNS and RSA claims staff, set up in our Claims
Response Vehicle, were able to provide assistance to West Kelowna fire evacuees in July.
Fires in West Kelowna forced the evacuation
of 6,000 residents as a blaze that covered 200 hectares threatened to engulf
local homes. With close to 300 policyholders in the evacuation area alone, CNS and RSA acted
immediately and got staff on site. This area of the province had previously
been hit with forest fires in 2003.
The CNS Kelowna claims team
reacted instantaneously. They set up
the Claims Response Vehicle at the West Kelowna evacuation centre, and were
ready and willing to provide a helping hand to those in need. The team stayed onsite to give out water and
provide advice to evacuees.
The claims vehicle is a
dedicated nerve centre capable of bringing the technology of the office not
only to the field, but to the site of a large-scale event, like the Kelowna fire. Equipped with
wireless internet and state-of-the-art computer systems, it provides staff with
immediate access to coverage information and details that are critical during a
first response to natural disasters.
CNS was the only company
to have a Claims Response Vehicle at the evacuation centre and we certainly
hope that the evacuees found our services to be helpful in their time of need.
